Date with Aunt Shell

A couple of weekends ago Michelle wanted to take the boys out on a date. She told them on Thursday night that she'd ask us and you know how boys are... they asked all day Friday till she got home. So we knew about it before she even asked us. :-) So on Saturday, May 31st they woke up ready to go... Little Ry and Josiah wanted to get all dressed up for their "date." It was too cute. They even wanted to put on "Church" clothes and get their hair done (which isn't their favorite task usually). I opted for nice jeans and T-shirts, but we did do the hair and I put lotion on their faces so they felt like we did something different than a normal day...

So, off they went to the KidsQuest and Red Robin for their date with Michelle...

Once they were in KidsQuest, the first stop is the water area... they always head there first. There they can play with water dynamics and create motion, dams, water pathways etc...

The base of a huge tree fort is a puppet area and hollowed out trunk... Josiah found a few critters for his show

Quinny found a horse to play with too...
... and Aunt Shell even crawled in there to join the fun!

Then they were off to the big train set.

Josiah found Old MacDonald's farm and kept singing the song over and over...

Quin found a little boat in the soft feet area

Let us not forget the mosh pit full of stuffed animals... it is supposed to be for little peewees but there weren't too many there that day, so the toddlers took over!

All three are being attacked again by the turtle... Those are Quin's feet poking out!
Josiah needs a break for a second...

... but Ry takes on the turtle himself and wins!!
Josiah took in the fish area.... How relaxing!

Quin then headed to the music house...

Then they all climbed the leaves and slide down... it really a fun little slide if you can figure out how to get to the top!

Josiah found a pet area... he takes good care of the animals!

After Kidsquest they built up an appetite and headed to Red Robin...



All in all... they had a blast on their date with Aunt Shell and can't wait for the next one!!
